From E-Waste to New Life

Welcome to the sixth course of the Pop-Machina Circular Maker Academy.

Circularity works for the abolition of waste through irrelevance of wasteful practices. One such practise is the production of electronic waste, or e-waste. 57.4 Mt (Million Metric Tonnes) of e-waste was generated in 2021, with the UN reporting each person on the planet producing an average 7.6 kg of e-waste. – Geneva Environment Network

In session we consider the circular makerspace’s role in addressing this problem. By introducing the basics of electronics we can appreciate the potential of e-waste by reframing it not as a dead object but as a selection of usable components.
